Blumind

Assuming you already know what a mind map is, I am just going to skip ahead and present the Blumind application. This is a free application for Windows-powered machines, an application that can be used to create new mind maps and edit existing mind map projects. You can get started from scratch, create a mind map, and then export is as a PDF document for example. Or you can load an existing mind map project and edit it.

The system requirements for running Blumind are quite low: Windows 2000 operating system or newer; .NET Framework 2.0 or newer.

The main panel of the application’s interface presents previews for recently accessed mind map projects. In the upper left hand corner there’s a Menu and a section that allows you to create a new mind map project, open an existing project, and access the options menu. It must be mentioned here that Blumind has a tabbed interface; open multiple projects and tabs for each will be displayed at the top of the interface.

Lots of elements can be put together to create a mind map: center topic, subtopic, icon, progress bar, notes, links, remarks. From Blumind’s user friendly interface you can arrange the elements you want, the way you want. When you’re done, you can save your work as a mind map project or you can export your work. Several export options are available: BMP, CSV, GIF, JPEG, PDF, PNG, SVG, Text, TIFF.
